perfect offering. There is a crack in everything. That's how the light gets in." - Leonard Cohen, Canadian singer and writer, from Anthem week, I was surprised to find several that seemed perfect for those of us who may have a faculty or two shy of a full school district. Somehow the fact that no one is truly whole occurs to these very quotable writers as something profound. Apparently it hadn't occurred to them that some of us (in fact, many of us) may be acutely aware that we're all, in some way, vulnerable. Check these other gems:
playing those you hold well." - Josh Billings, American humorist (1818 - 1885) "The greatest thing a man can do in this world is to make the most possible out of the stuff that has been given him. This is success, and there is no other." - Orison Swett Marden, American founder of "Success" magazine (1850 - 1924) And the ever popular, "When fate hands you a lemon, make lemonade." - Dale Carnegie, American motivational speaker and writer, (1888 - 1955) meant for us and embrace and magnify them for our own use. In the new content on eSight this week, we present a few examples of recipes for lemonade. Each presents an opportunity that, if not perceived because we're too fixed instead on the problem, will move to the next house upon receiving no answer to its knock on our door. In particular, we are excited to share a brand new opportunity in the first of a series of new visitors at your very doorstep -- opportunities to be involved in building and prospering from six new forums. Heralding the series is Liz Seger, who, last week, launched "Ask eSight About Self-esteem," which you can find in the Members Hub. Self-esteem itself is a major ingredient in good lemonade recipes. Join the fun and gain the personal power that comes with it. Along with a review of a very large job site, FlipDog.com, job seekers can consider the opportunities presented to them in "Ticket to Work Program: An Overview," an On-The-Job Ramp offering. This is a new chance for anyone on SSA/SSDI to have their cake and eat it, too. Washed down with lemonade, no doubt. And be sure to check Dino Manalis' new "Ticket to Work FAQ," a place to ask questions and get answers to them about Ticket to Work -- the launch of our second of six forums that will debut over the next several weeks. I wish I had a dollar for every time I heard someone complain that the Internet is beyond their reach for some imagined reason or other. With those dollars, I could pay for my own Internet access for a year! There are a number of ways you can get access, and we set forth five resources which present those options for entrepreneurs in "Available Options For Internet Access" (Entrepreneurial Junction). Don't miss "opportunity" because you answered the wrong door when it came knocking. Finally, to those employers who say that resistance from their existing employees is the major barrier to a more inclusive workplace, we respond, "Don't let bad attitudes block your way to the door when opportunity knocks!" Instead, take the opportunity to create a more productive team because teaching staff to value each other has an inevitably beneficial impact on the bottom line. Employer Connection can help by telling you "How to Foster a Work Environment That Values Employees With Disabilities." When opportunity knocks" be there! |
