eSight Names Winner in Drawing for FreedomBox PrizeBy: Member Services

(New York City, NY - January 4, 2006) eSight member Jan Bailey has won a FreedomBox Pass Key and one year of FreedomBox Service as the prize in a random drawing sponsored by eSight Careers Network. 
Naming Bailey winner of the drawing capped eSight's fifth anniversary as an online community of job seekers, career counselors and mainstream employers for sharing career-building experiences - all with a disability focus.
Bailey, who joined eSight as a registered member in November 2005, entered the drawing many times by recommending eSight membership to 44 other people during the last two months. By entering the drawing, members such as Bailey generated more than 100 new members for eSight during the last 10 weeks - about double the online network's normal growth in membership. To be in the drawing, an eSight member needed to forward a copy of eSight's NetWork News, the online community's weekly e-mail newsletter, to a friend, asking that person to register for free as an eSight member. The member also needed to send a copy of the referral to MemberServices@eSight.org to be in the drawing. Between October 19 and December 3l, 2005, eSight collected all such forwarded e-mails and put them in the drawing. The Pass Key, a sleek and compact disc, contains the FreedomBox browser and System Access software provided by the Serotek Corporation, recipient of the prestigious 2005 da Vinci Award for innovative software. The Pass Key is about the same size and weight of an average credit card, yet it holds access to the Internet, screen reading, e-mail and the FreedomBox Network.
